They say that necessity is the mother of invention. And then again, sometimes
necessity is just a mother. Walking out of a surreal quiet canyon in the growing
darkness with a rising moon can be a spiritual experience. Add dropping temperatures,
not enough food or water and poor fitting gear, and it quickly becomes a death march.
We have experienced necessity in the very best and in the very worst sense – as freelance adventurers and guides from Arctic Canada to Patagonia, and from the American West to Mongolia – that’s what creates the passion behind MOTHER™.
Not all of our trips afield are epic adventures. Some mornings it is just a short drive
to a local State Pheasant release site for a few hours of dog work, or scouting for
Blacktails out of our door. The memories of those mornings burn just as vividly as
when we were tired, cold, a little bit lost, and loving every minute of it.
We build gear to perform as if our lives depended on it. And in talking to our
customers, some have been there, done that, and got that tee-shirt - all with their
MOTHERs on their backs. More importantly, we build gear that moves with you and
disappears from your stream of consciousness so you can focus on what is really
important - sunrise - point - flush - swing - shoot - hit - or not - laughter - friends.
